Servings
Ingredients
1.5 cup sugar
0.5 cup cold water
0.33 cup Syrup, corn, light
2 tbsp Cocoa Powder, unsweetened
1 tsp vanilla extract
0.5 tsp baking soda
0.25 tsp salt
7 cup Popcorn, air popped
0.5 cup dry roasted unsalted peanuts , coarsely chopped


Directions
1 In a nonstick pot, add in the sugar, water, corn syrup, and cocoa, stirring until smooth.
2 Cook over medium high heat, boil and continue cooking until it reaches the hard crack stage, stir occasionally.
3 While mixture is cooking, spray nonstick cooking spray onto a baking sheet and set aside.
4 When done, remove pot from heat and add in the vanilla, baking soda, and salt; then add in the popped corn and peanuts.
5 Working quickly, toss gently, and spread onto greased baking sheet, cool.
6 Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Additional Information
To check for the hard crack stage: use a candy thermometer to check when at 310 degrees F.
