Ingredients
2 medium onions , chopped
6 medium garlic cloves , minced
1 tbsp olive oil
32 oz drained canned tomatoes , chopped
0.5 cup white wine (dry; or tomato juice)
0.25 cup unsalted tomato paste
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
0.5 tsp salt (optional)
0.25 tsp black pepper


Directions
1 Cook onions and garlic in oil 5 minutes.
2 Mix in tomatoes, wine, and paste and bring to a boil.
3 Lower heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring often.
4 Mix in lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Additional Information
This is a great sauce for pasta or for in meatloaf or sloppy joes.
