Lamb
2 lb lean lamb loin chops
1 lb potatoes, fresh, medium , peeled and diced (about 3 cups)
0.25 tsp salt
0.25 tsp black pepper
14.5 oz Tomatoes, diced, with garlic & onion, canned , undrained
2 oz cold water
0.75 cup lowfat plain yogurt

Garam Masala Spice Blend
0.5 tsp ground cardamom
1.25 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cumin
0.5 tsp black pepper
0.25 tsp ground cloves
0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
0.25 tsp ground nutmeg


Directions
Lamb Directions
1 Remove excess fat from meat. Cut meat into 1-inch pieces. Sprinkle meat with garam masala (see below).
2 Place potatoes in 1 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker. Add meat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour undrained tomatoes and water over mixture in cooker.
3 Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours. Top each serving with yogurt.
Garam Masala
1 Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
2 The blend listed here yields 4 teaspoons. Use 3 teaspoons for this recipe, or more to your taste.
Additional Information
If you dont want to make your own, you can find garam masala (an Indian spice mix) at ethnic grocery stores and many supermarkets.
