Directions
1 Peel and slice off and throw away husks and stems of tomatillos. Boil a large pot of water. Cook tomatillos in water for 10 minutes or until soft. Strain.
2 Using a food processor or blender, puree tomatillos, broth, cilantro, chiles, onions, salt, pepper, and cloves until there are no lumps.
Additional Information
If fresh tomatillos are not available, omit the 1/2 teaspoon salt and use 1 (11-ounce) can tomatillos, rinsed and drained, plus 2 tablespoons lime juice.
