Ingredients
1 cooking spray
0.25 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
0.5 cup ground cinnamon
0.5 cup quick cooking rolled oats
0.5 cup chopped walnuts
3 tbsp SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, granulated
1 tbsp brown sweetener (brown sugar substitute or blend)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter , cold and cut into tiny pieces, divided
1 tbsp walnut oil (if necessary)
3 tbsp strawberry jam
6 medium apples , peeled, cored, and thinly sliced


Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
2 Coat 8 x 12" baking dish with cooking spray.
3 In large bowl, toss apple slices, applesauce, vanilla, and cinnamon. Spread evenly in baking dish.
4 In separate bowl, mix oats, nuts, sugar substitute, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
5 With pastry blender or fork, cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture is crumbly. If mixture is too dry, add walnut oil.
6 Spread oat/nut mixture evenly over apples and dot with remaining butter and strawberry preserves.
7 Bake 30-35 minutes, or until topping is golden and apples are bubbling. Serve warm.
Additional Information
You can substitute any type of nut in this recipe.
