Directions
1 Begin by browning the chuck and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring to crumble.
2 Drain the meat and then pat dry with paper towels to remove any excess fat.
3 Return the meat to the skillet, and stir in the tomato sauce and seasonings. Continue to cook over medium heat until heated thoroughly, stirring constantly.
4 Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
5 Layer the tortillas, meat sauce, and cheese in a 2-quart casserole dish coated with cooking spray. Pour the water over top, cover the casserole, and then bake for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
Additional Information
Low-sodium rice, or rice that has been prepared without salt or fat makes a great addition to this dish.
