Ingredients
0.5 cup margarine , room temperature
0.33 cup sugar
0.33 cup brown sugar
0.5 cup liquid egg substitute (or egg whites)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2.25 cup white all purpose flour
0.33 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp low sodium baking powder
4 oz SPLENDA®
0.75 cup Dates, pitted
0.33 cup cold water , room temperature


Directions
1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
2 Cream together the margarine and sugars at medium speed.
3 Stir in the egg whites or liquid egg substitute and vanilla.
4 Mix together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar substitute, and dates. Add this and the water to the creamed mixture.
5 Drop by 1 1/2 tablespoons onto cookie sheets. Press down lightly with your fingers.
6 Bake for 12 to 15 minutes and remove from oven. Remove the cookies from the hot cookie sheet and place on a wire rack. Let cool to room temperature and serve!
