Steak and Marinade
1 lb flank steak
0.25 cup soy sauce (gluten free)
3 tbsp pineapple juice
1 medium garlic cloves , minced
0.5 tsp fresh ginger root , peeled and chopped

Dry Spice Rub
0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
0.25 tsp ground cloves
0.25 tsp ground ginger
0.25 tsp ground allspice
0.5 tsp garlic salt
1 tbsp black peppercorns , crushed
1 tsp anise seed , crushed


Directions

1 Mix all marinade ingredients in a gallon size zip lock bag. Add flank steak and turn to coat.
2 Seal bag and place in refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours.
3 Mix dry rub ingredients in a small bowl.
4 Preheat broiler.
5 Remove steak from marinade. Discard marinade.
6 Press dry rub onto both sides of steak and place on broiler pan.
7 Place under broiler and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or to desired doneness.
Additional Information
This recipe works great with any steak. Please note that most of the marinade is discarded, therefore the sodium content will be greatly reduced.
