Servings
Ingredients
1.5 lb flank steak
0.25 cup low sodium chicken broth
3 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1 fresh green onions , thinly sliced
1 tbsp cooking sherry (optional)
0.5 tsp fresh ginger root , grated
2 medium garlic cloves , minced

Directions
1 Trim fat from steak. Score both sides of steak by making shallow cuts at 1" intervals in diamond pattern.
2 Place steak in resealable plastic bag and set in shallow baking dish.
3 In small bowl, whisk broth, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, green onion, sherry (if desired), ginger, and garlic. Add marinade to plastic bag. Reseal tightly.
4 Marinate steak in refrigerator for 2 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
5 Drain steak, discarding marinade.
6 For charcoal grill, cook steak, uncovered, directly over medium coals for 17 to 21 minutes, turning once.
7 For gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Cook, covered, 17 to 21 minutes, turning once.
8 Remove from grill. Let steak rest 5 minutes. Thinly slice steak across the grain.
