Servings
Ingredients
2 cup white all purpose flour
0.5 tsp low sodium baking powder
0.5 tsp baking soda
0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
0.25 tsp ground allspice
0.25 tsp salt
0.5 cup Margarine, 80% fat (or 1/2 cup butter)
0.5 cup sugar
0.25 cup packed brown sugar
1 Eggs, large, raw
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 medium apples , cored and finely chopped (Granny Smith)
1 cup Raisins, seedless
1 cup chopped walnuts , coarsely chopped
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Grease 2 cookie sheets. On waxed paper, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice and salt.
2 Using a large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low; beat in egg, applesauce and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture just until blended. Stir in apple, raisins, and walnuts.
3 Drop dough by rounded measuring tablespoons, 1 inch apart, on prepared cookie sheets. Bake cookies on 2 oven racks, until lightly browned around edges and set, 20 to 22 minutes, rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower racks halfway through baking.
4 While cookies bake, in a small bowl, stir confectioners' sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
5 Transfer cookies to wire racks. With pastry brush, brush lemon glaze over warm cookies; cool.
