Ingredients
10 medium apples , cored, sliced (Granny Smith)
4 medium apples , cored, sliced (Macintosh)
4 medium apples , cored, sliced (Red Delicious)
0.5 cup apple cider , pasteurized
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
0.25 cup brown sugar (or brown sugar substitute)


Directions
1 Place apples (with skin for more fiber) in saucepan with cider and simmer over medium high heat, uncovered, for 40 minutes. Stir to prevent sticking as needed, every 4 to 6 minutes.
2 Add cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar until you have a chunky sauce.


Additional Information
Top with a sprinkling of ground flaxseed meal for more flavor and nutrients.
