0.33 cup white whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt , to taste (optional)
0.5 tsp white pepper
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp ground sage
2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 tbsp canola oil
4 medium apples , Granny Smith, sliced thinly
2 cup apple cider
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup whole milk


Directions
1 Mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sage in a shallow pan. Dredge chicken through flour mixture.
2 Heat oil in large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high; add chicken and brown each side 5 minutes.
3 In large mixing bowl, whisk cornstarch and milk, then add cider.
4 Add apple slices and cider mixture to the chicken; simmer, uncovered, until apples are tender, about 20 minutes. The cider should be reduced by half of original volume.
5 Transfer apple slices and chicken to a serving platter. Serve.
Additional Information
Serve over rice or barley.
