Ingredients
1 medium onions , chopped
6 medium garlic cloves , minced
1 tbsp olive oil
0.25 cup fresh basil , leaves, minced
28 oz Tomatoes, pear, crushed, canned, FS
0.5 cup red wine , dry
0.5 tsp hot red pepper flakes


Directions
1 Saute onion and garlic in oil 5 minutes over medium-high heat.
2 Stir basil, tomatoes, wine and chili flakes to onion and garlic and let boil 10 minutes, stirring often to break up tomatoes.


Additional Information
Once you have this recipe down, try adding extra flavors such as sun-dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers. The sodium can be lowered by using unsalted tomatoes.
