What is the difference between prediabetes and borderline diabetes? I kmow a little about it, but can you explain more about it?

I have found that sucrose, Splenda and similar products give me violent headaches and severe diahrea. My doctor says most likely that I am allergic to these products. I am a borderline diabetic who wants to avoid insulin and cannot take the pills due to their sulfa base. What can I do to keep my sugar levels down yet avoid these products?

When do you know when you are no longer prediabetic and now full diabetic?

I took the 8hr fasting blood test and my score was 71 (which my doctor said was normal and under 100), but I still have symptoms. First I was told I have one kidney that is not working and I still have tinngling in my hands especially left hand, frequent urinations, overweight. Hello, I am a 51 year old male, 180 lbs, 5'11", fairly fit. I took a glucose tolerance test, initial blood test, oral glucose liquid, followed up in two hours with another bloood test. My initial was 92mg/dl, and after two hours was 141mg/dl. Researching this, I noticed prediabetes begins at 140mg/dl. Should I be overly concerned and should I cut out all sugars or just decrease the level of sugars and carbs? Thanks, Steve

My Fiance just found out he has prediabetes. We are altering the whole family's diet as such. I am concerned about the reduction in carbs he's trying to attempt might be too much. Is there a certain number of carbs you should eat a day to stay healthy through the weight loss process?

Hi, I was told by my doc the other day that I am diabetic, but when I test my sugar in my blood, the numbers aren't really that high. They have been about 107-114 premeal,and varying between 118-155 two hours after a meal.
