For years I’ve gone on about how proud I was that Charlie wasn’t ashamed of his type 1 diabetes. I loved the fact that throughout his childhood thus far, he has never felt embarrassed nor apprehensive when whipping out his testing supplies and squeezing out a globule of blood. So why on Earth did it trouble me when I found out that Charlie mentioned he has type 1 diabetes on his Instagram profile? Why??? Shouldn’t I be ecstatic that he was brave enough to declare it...
