Never walk around in new shoes all day long. Doing so can cause blisters and blisters can lead to dangerous infections in a very short period of time. Instead, slowly break in new footwear by wearing them on occasions where you will be sitting more often than standing, such as to a movie or to church. Take an extra comfortable pair with you just in case. If you have peripheral neuropathy, talk to your podiatrist about whether or not you’re a candidate for custom molded shoes.
