The short answer is that this is yet another marketing scam and this product is not much better for you than plain old white bread. It's essentially regular white bread with some whole grain flour added to it, along with a huge list of other ingredients you don't need or want. Marketers know that their customers are looking for "whole grain" on the label, but that they won't necessarily be able to make the change from soft, fluffy, sweet white bread to the texture and taste of 100% whole grain.

You can find 100% whole white wheat breads, but you have to look hard. It probably won't be one of the big brands you're familiar with. If you are not a fan of regular whole wheat bread, try the whole white wheat. It's a more mellow taste. Just make sure the first ingredient is "whole" wheat, whether it's white wheat or regular wheat.
