I cannot find any general reason a person with diabetes should avoid baker's yeast. Bread is a high-carbohydrate food because of the flour it is made with. Perhaps that is the confusion? Bread will raise your blood sugar because of the carbohydrate content, so it's wise to limit your intake and always count the grams of carbohydrates in all your snacks and meals. I hope this helps! If not, please post another question with more specifics.
