Type 1 diabetic for 3 years. Blood sugar under control until recently. I woke up yesterday at 551 after a pre-bedtime reading of 145.

My diet hasn't changed nor has my insulin. I seem to be running high even after corrections. Any ideas why it would jump so high without any known cause?

Sometimes you have an as yet undiagnosed infection or virus that could be the culprit. If it continues that dramatically, I would do a 2-3 am blood sugar to make sure your am high is not the result of going too low in the middle of the night. Keep track and see if it happens again; you may want to change to a fresh bottle of insulin to see if that makes a difference. Good luck!
