Hi paulajan,

Thanks for reaching out to dLife.

Losing a child can be devastating. There is help. First, see your doctor. Share your concerns. Both diabetes and depression are treatable.

Following an individualized diabetes treatment plan would be a good starting point in getting blood glucose to a safe level. There are effective treatments for depression that help improve emotional health and lower blood glucose. Your doctor can refer you to a counselor participating in your health plan.

Your counselor can direct you to a support group targeted for people with loss of a loved one. Talking with others coping with similar loss can be very helpful.

Read about diabetes and depression!

Take care.
