My son is getting ready to start school and I need some ideas for snacks that he can take to school and leave them there. Nothing refrigerated.

My son is entering the first grade and I am trying to find some snacks that he can take to school and be able to just keep them there. There is no refrigerator so he can't have anything that needs to be cold. I usually keep the snacks around 12 g or 15 g of carbs for his snacks.

Non-perishable, low carb snacks aren't easy to find, but you certainly should be able to find a handful of things that will keep and that he likes. A very small apple would be about 15g of carbs and then there are things like beef or turkey jerky, popcorn, low carb energy bars, nuts and seeds. Check out this dLife slideshow for more ideas:
