Glad to hear that you are paying attention to food labels. Saturated fats and trans fats are associated with elevations in LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. Keeping the LDL low helps to protect the heart.
Palm fruit oil is the oil extracted from the flesh of the palm fruit. It is cholesterol free. It a semi-solid at room temperature. Food manufacturers use it as a replacement for partially hydrogenated oils.
According to the American Palm Oil Council, palm fruit oil is different and contains much less saturated fat than coconut and palm kernel oil.
