Dear cooter, Thanks for writing into dLife. The term "borderline" has lost favor with medical professionals who work in the field of diabetes. It is usually more accurate to think in the terms of 1. The person has no indicators of diabetes, 2. the person has pre-diabetes or 3. The person has diabetes. Borderline doesn't have any accepted parameters. In my experience, many doctors referred to borderline diabetes until they put the person on medication. However, the term pre-diabetes or even the terms, at higher risk of developing diabetes, are much more accurate terms. Ask you physician to tell you where your blood sugars fall.
