I am going through menopause and with the hot flashes. I have type 2. is it ok to take over the counter meds for hot flashes?

You did not identify the over-the-counter (OTC) medicines for hot flashes. There are several OTCs on the market. Some may influence blood glucose (sugar) levels.

Be sure to talk with your doctor first about your concerns before taking any OTCs. Some of the symptoms may or may not be related to menopause. It is important to have an accurate diagnosis before treatment can be determined. After your doctor's evaluation, he or she can recommend appropriate treatment that matches your personal needs.
