Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

Last September, the FDA has launched a safety review of the diabetes drug Actos. New data suggest that the drug may increase risk of bladder cancer.

The FDA stresses that the finding is not proof that Actos causes bladder cancer. Patients taking Actos are advised not to stop taking their medication unless advised to do so by their doctor. The Agency is reviewing this safety concern.

France and Germany have suspended the use of Actos, concerning increased risk of patients developing bladder cancer.

I recommend that you discuss your concerns with your doctor. Do keep in mind that the FDA has not concluded that Actos increases the risk of bladder cancer.
