Traveling to Hawaii - how does one adjust basals and times on the pumps traveling from central time zone to Hawaii and back?

For Insulin pump patients the answer is simply:

  • Those who have continuous infusion with insulin pumps should leave settings as is and change the clock on the pump when they arrive at their destination. Boluses follow usual rules with meal time.

    It is suggested to continue glucose testing to make sure this is working for you.

    While on vacation, plan for increased activity and new and interesting foods at meal time. Enjoy and Aloha!
