27 yr male type 1 I know recently had leg amputation. He has no insurance. Are there resources to help acquire an artificial leg? Thank you.

Your local chapter of the ADA or JDRF may be able to provide you with resources where financial help is available. There is also an organization called the Amputee Coalition of America; they are very proactive in helping people like yourself in finding assistance for funding your artificial limb. You can find them at www.amputee-coalition.org
