Dear mystinkydog,

Thank you for writing dLife!

Green coffee bean extract tablets are made from coffee beans that have not yet been roasted. Because these beans have not been processed, they contain higher levels of chlorogenic acid, a compound thought to have health benefits for heart disease, diabetes, and weight loss.

Research suggests that the caffeine contained in green coffee beans might change the way your body handles glucose (sugar) and can cause increases or decreases in blood glucose levels. If you use green coffee beans be sure to carefully monitor your blood glucose levels.

Green Coffee Bean Extract tablets have not been thoroughly tested so they cannot be called “safe”. However, no significant adverse effects have been seen in human studies thus far.
