I am Type 1 on the pump. I have a Type 2 friend, who consistently and steadily runs level around the 200s - better than going up and down?

If you are asking if your friend, who has type 2 diabetes could potentially benefit from insulin pump therapy, the short answer is : it is a good possibility. Many type 2 patients are successful pumpers. That being said, the patient needs to be "ready" for insulin pump therapy. They need to not only be receptive to the idea, but they need to fully understand the concept of basal-bolus therapy. They need to be fully educated about treatment with insulin; they may benefit from a trial pump which gives the user an idea of how pump therapy works without being "connected". Many companies offer this to interested patients.
