When insulin is exposed to extreme temperatures it can loose its potency, and therefore becomes less effective in lowering blood glucose. Temperatures greater than 104 degrees, or less than 40 degrees, are not recommended. Depending on where your daughter wears her pod, you may be able to protect it from direct exposure to sun to prevent increase in temperature above the acceptable range. Unexplained blood glucose elevation, with known exposure to heat may be indication that the insulin potency has been affected, and a change in pod would be recommended. Happy and safe travels to you and your daughter!
