Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

You pose a question that many people with diabetes often ask. If blood gucose (sugar) is high, why would one be hungry or crave sugar?

All the causes associated with food cravings are not well understood.

One explanation is physiological. When the blood glucose is high, this means that the glucose is in the blood and not inside the cells where it can be used for energy. The cells are hungry, but the fuel the cells require is in the blood.
