Thanks for contacting dLIfe. A history of low blood sugars is a risk factor for getting Type 2 Diabetes. Your meal plan and activity are your 2 most important tools for controlling your blood sugar. Another critical tool is checking your blood sugar. Difficulty thinking could be related to high or low blood sugars. I would recommend checking your blood sugar when you first get up before eating. (goal about 100). Then check again 2 hours after breakfast (goal less than 140). Sleep deprivation can also cause symptoms. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Another thing to consider is sleep apnea. A sleep study can diagnose this and it is easily treated. People with diabetes are at higher risk for sleep apnea. It is important to discuss these issues with your primary care provider to find and treat the real source of this problem. It may be that it has nothing to do with your diabetes. Don't ignore this -

Hi, Often, it is seen that people skip breakfast in an attempt to either lose weight or to get to work in a hurry. This practice should be avoided at all costs. It is the first meal of the day and therefore, should not be skipped. Your breakfast should consist of 1 cup skimmed milk with 1% fat, which is equivalent to low fat milk. Carbohydrates have to be consumed for breakfast, so that you have enough energy to carry you through the day and prevent you from binging. You can choose to have either bran flakes, wheat bread, multi-grain bread, oatmeal, waffle, cereals of your choice or rice. Also include a fruit for fiber in your 1200 calorie breakfast diabetic diet menu. You can also consume tea or coffee without sugar, as per your liking. Try to include antidiabetic herbs like bitter melon, pterocarpus marsupium etc.also in your. You can have this anytime. But believe me,it is very effective in controlling blood sugar and is 100% safe.
