"Our son is a type 1 diabetic and 2 years old. We currently finding it difficult to control his sugar levels and mood swings. We need some help."

Diagnosis was made June 7 2009 1st A1C was 11.5%, test done June 13 2009 2nd A1C was 6.6%, test done in December 2009 Weight 16kg or 32lbs at February 2010 Height 89cm Big appetite with major cravings for sweets

I understand your frustration, having raised two sons with diabetes. Mood swings can be a result of blood sugar fluctuations, as well as frustration about frequent blood sugar testing and the rigors of diabetes care. Increased appetite can be a result of too much insulin; so I would check with your health care team and possibly adjust insulin dosage or even try a pump if you have not considered it already. Diabetes is a balancing act that takes practice and patience. Ours sons are doing great and yours will as well. Feel free to email me with any specific questions or convcerns.

Sometimes a two year old is JUST a two year old, not a DIABETIC (first). Strong emotions can be just that... and not the diabetes specifically...
