Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

Both you and your blood glucose are challeged during a most stressful time of your life.

Perimenopause is associated with hormone and mood swings, weight changes, headaches, fluid retention, and even memory problems. All of these can affect your blood glucose levels. Oh no! Unwanted weight gain!

According to dLife contributing author, Janis Roszler, the road through menopause can be frustrating as well. If you are perimenopausal, test frequently and be patient with yourself and your glucose control.

This time of your life can be frustrating, but don’t despair. All women will go through it at some point in their lives. Eat well, stay physically active, and adjust your diabetes treatment plan as needed.

Take care.
