Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

Dreamfields Pasta is a pasta specially designed by the food manufacturer to reduce the amount of carbohydrate available. The claim is that some of the carbohydrate is tied-up, preventing it from being digested and absorbed. Fewer carbohydrates digested and absorbed means lower increase in blood glucose level than would normally found with regular pasta of the same amount.

Follow the instructions indicated on the label for counting the carbohydrates in your meal plan. Be sure to check your blood glucose before the meal containing the pasta and also 2 hours after the start of the same meal. This way, you can compare how your blood glucose responded to the meal with the Dreamfields Pasta.

Keep in mind that each person responds slightly differently to the same foods. Blood glucose elevation will depend on what other foods are in the meal, the blood glucose level before the meal, the degree of diabetes control, and individual fitness level.
