"For years i did not take care of myself. I am now in control. However i have times icant hold a glass because i start shaking so bad. What is going on"

For the first 5 years i would range between 300-500. I am now 55years old and under control with a pump. When i go to pick up a glass or a plate etc. I start shaking so bad i spill things and just writing i shake bad as well. What do you think is going on ?

Thanks for writing dLife. Your question is very good and your symptoms must be evaluated by a physician for proper diagnosis and treatment, as the shaking that you describe may or may not be related to diabetes. It is not uncommon when those who have had diabetes that has not been well controlled for a significant amount of time have a reaction known as "relative hypoglycemia" when blood sugar levels are in the normal range. That is why many physicians often want to treat blood glucose levels to normal on a moderately slow pace depending on other issues that are present. These feelings that you describe may be part of your body adjusting to lower blood glucose levels, but again these signs and symptoms need to be thoroughly evaluated by a physician for an accurate answer and treatment.
