"Anyone experiencing hot flashes when your blood sugar moves, either up or down. Very hot, instant sweat, fast heart beat. "

Background Info Hide
I am past menopause - hot flashes reappeared when diabetes began. I have checked my numbers during and after a hot flash and there is a connection with the rise and fall of my blood sugar.

Hello,

Thanks for asking dLife.

There IS a relationship between hormonal changes and blood glucose levels. Hormonal changes may cause confusing symptoms. Menopausal symptoms can linger for some time.

According to dLife author, Janis Roszler, these changes may cause symptoms that resemble insulin reactions - hot flashes, rapid heartbeat, and flushed skin. These feelings can be caused by changes in blood sugar.

Besides hormonal changes, other things can also trigger hot flashes. These culprits include alcohol, caffeine, cigarette, tight clothing and spicy foods.

Take care.
