Hi Joanna! Thanks so much for your question. The eating disorder quiz was excerpted from a diagnostic tool called The Eating Attitudes Test. The questions you see in our quiz are taken from that test but that test has other components to it that do not translate into a quiz. In order to maintain the integrity of the results, we stuck with the questions in a specific section of the tool.

It is not lost on us that manipulating insulin is a factor for some people with diabetes who have eating disorders. This quiz, like all our quizzes, is meant to open eyes to the possibility of a condition, not diagnose it. Anyone deliberately withholding insulin in order to lose or control their weight will most likely be exhibiting some of the other signs spoken of in the quiz. The hope, which all the answers were attempting to convey, is that food issues are more prevalent than people may think so when in doubt, check it out. And if more information is needed on diabulimia, the issue you speak of, we do have information on our site - http://www.dlife.com/diabetes/information/daily_living/kids/eating_disorders.html
