"my blood sugars have been running in the 160-180 range most of the time and this is after upping my basal in Jan by request by my doc. What's up?"

Thank-you for contacting dLife.com. There may be 3 very good reasons for this change. First it is often the nature of the disease that our sensitivity to insulin worsens and we have to compensate for this in increasing our dosages. There are often changes every 3-5 years. I simply call it a "tune up".

Another possibility is that you may not be exactly accurate on your carbs. Are you still measuring your food or eye balling? Have you made sure that the products you are eating haven't changed their labels.?

Has there been a change in your weight or your activity level. This makes a big difference in your insulin resistance.

Consider these options and see if you can identify any contributing factors.

you can always discuss this with a pump technician CDE and see if they can see any trends that you may have not identified.
