So glad that you are engaged in regular physical activity. However, I am concern about your feet.
My first thought is "Are you wearing the right shoes?" Good fitting shoes should not cause soreness and loss of toenails.
If the soreness and loss of toenails continue, I recommend that you see a podiatrist (doctor who specializes in foot care).
Taking good care of feet helps in controlling blood glucose (sugar).
