"Do you feel Advandiamet is safe. Another warning today, like several years past, that it can cause heartattacks. "

I have been on Advandiamet for years. When the last scare came out about the heart attacks, I immediately tried other meds. They controlled my life. Did not like it Too many lows. Advandiamet has worked best for me; no problems. I take 2mg/500mg tablets twice a day.

Every person is different and ever case is different but you are correct that Avandamet has cardiac related risks. As with all medications, you must consider risk VS benefit of the drug. If you have any history of heart failure or heart attack, you should not take Avandamet. If you have swelling or edema anywhere on your body, you should not take Avandia or Avandamet.
