"Is there a medicine that can be taken to stablize my sugar. My dr is treating my sugar (a1c 6.2) with diet/exercise but I still have daily lows. txs."

I have low sugar almost everyday. I feel I am on a roller coaster if my eating isn't 6 meals a day -I have lows, I feel terrible..i feel like myself when my sugar is 130 or so- sugars drops daily to 70s - 60s- I am afraid to take glucose med (if the dr will ever prescribe it b/c I have so many lows on my own w/out meds) I hope there is medicine that can stablize my sugar without trying to drop it... I fear I will pass out if I take meds.

Thanks for bring this to dLife, essentially, you are describing the erratic behaviors attributed to the beta cells of the pancreas; Ty2 being defined as a 'progressive' disease-the beta cells continue to malfunction, and some insulin resistance all Ty2 diabetes signs and symptoms.

Treatment strategies involves meal planning, physical activity and may at some point, include oral medications and/or insulin replacement medications. As you mentioned, 6 meals a day, can resolve to some normal state, (the efficiency of what insulin you still are producing maybe triggering this rapid hypoglycemia and the compression in changing numbers signal symptoms-the secretion of the counter regulatory hormones).

This maybe a pivotal point in the evolving diabetes's, testing and treatment are very important. I would suggest, (keeping the glucose around the 130-140 mg/dl, (AACE)), meal management-your food choices are your medicine: carbs are immediately broke down, digestion of carb begin in your mouth, and absorbed and reflected in the blood sugars within the10 minutes to 2 hours following intake, protein will contribute to the blood glucose levels in the 3-4 hours, protein contributes approximately 50% to the readings, and fat will contribute minimal at the 5-6 hour or maybe 10% contribution to glucose numbers. You may need to increase meals frequency to 9-10 per day, manipulating the protein content may help to normalize the glucose levels, total digestion of protein, (cheese, cottage cheese, peanut butter or animal products, or soy protein products) lasting to the 3-4 hours, so you get a nice coverage of food digestion and leveling out of glucose.
