Hello rebosch
Wow that is over $100 a month. I would recommend you start by calling your insurance company and discussing your coverage for the insulin. Secondly, I would call at least three other pharmacies to ask what their price is for the same insulin. Pharmacies are a business and you may find a more competative price. Many insurance companies are using mail order pharmacies. Ask your company about this. There is usually a significant savings if the insurance company has all their members using the same supplier. I don't know if this will help you this time, but you need to be proactive and investigate for the next time.

Are you eligible for any public assistance because of your child's health history? Are you sure? Call your county office and ask.

Lastly, if you do not get anywhere with my suggestions, contact the manufactures of Novalog directly and see if they can help you. click here. You may need to provide your income and other financial information but they may cut the price for you if it is a hardship. Good luck and please use dLife forums and blogs to get suggestions from your peers that may have more ideas.

I am on Novolog 70/30 and I was able to get three month supplies thru the drug company for free with my income. It is income limited but the amounts you can make are very liberal. Please contact your dr they have the paperwork to send in and it took me about 15 days to receive it.
