"Are ther any low impact exercising I can do to get my numbers lower?"

I have type 2 diabetes and degenertive disc disease. I have a hard time just cleaning house. I am on a lot of meds and just need something that I can try to start on so I can get my numbers lower. I dont want to be put on another med or more insulin. Please help me. I am kind of deperate here. When just standing doing dishes hurts my back how in the world can I exercise?

Thanks for writing dLife. Your question is very good and yes in fact there are good options for exercise even with physical limitations. It would be very worthwhile to consult with a physical therapist regarding this issue, as they can very specifically guide you in effective and safe exercises that will help you with blood glucose control. However, many who cannot stand for long periods of time can use arm weights, resistance bands, exercise bicycles and even small foot cycles that you can use while sitting on a couch or in a chair. These exercises help with maintaining or building muscle and using any muscles- both upper and lower body muscles, can help with blood glucose management. Of course, food choices also make a difference and in spite of exercise and diet, medication adjustments are sometimes needed. Best of luck to you!
