"I have heard of an antioxidant sipplement, I believe that it is called Nepretin, that claims to "sweep" the blood vessels of some retinopathy scars."

I had laser surgery 6 years ago and was just wondering if this would be worth giving a shot. My sight is not completely horrendous but I can't read as fast as i used to and feel uncomfortable driving. Also, what can be done for macular edema?

I cannot stress more that your vision is precious. I never recommend supplements that are not prescribed by a doctor. Supplements are not regulated and tested like medications. They may interact with medications you are prescribed. Seek the care of a specialist in diabetic retinapathy at a teaching hospital. See your ophthalmologist as recommended. Take all your medications exactly as directed. Most of all, keep your glucose within target range. This is the best you can do to slow the progression or prevent sight loss.
