Not at this time, but it is actually used for safety reasons in Canada, as told to me by a doctor there. In case of an accident, paramedics have good information right on a license.

I live in MN and am a recently diagnosed insulin dependent type 2 diabetic. Since I was insulin dependent, I had to notify the state within 30 days of my diagnosis. I had to fill out a form and my dr had to also answer some questions.

You do not have to list this on your license in NY.

Hello! I am actually a paramedic (a Type I diabetic paramedic at that!) and we don't go searching through a patient's wallet. If you are not able to respond to questions, we "load and go" and do a coma cocktail of D-50, Narcan, and Vitamin B. This covers low blood sugars, opiate overdoses, and alcoholic problems. The ER may look through your wallet, or the police if they follow to the hospital. We look for medic alert bracelets and necklaces. If you do not have one, I highly recommend getting one. I wear one wherever I go, including shopping, work, school, etc. I also let my coworkers, teachers, and classmates know that I am diabetic and what to do if I start acting all loopy and where I keep my rapid acting sugar. Hope this helps
