Dear Pittypat- Thank-you for contacting dLIfe.com. What an excellent job you have done to lose 66 pounds. This is improving you overall health in so many measurable ways. As far as your medications go, first you will always take your thyroid pills. Once you have a low secretion of thyroid that can not be re-established. On the other hand, if your hypertension is not hereditary and due to excessive weight, those medications can be reduced and possibly halted with a health care providers supervision.

Diabetes never goes away but the treatment interventions due. You will always be on a meal plan, activity and glucose testing but ideal weight can reduce the oral meds and insulin you may take. These decisions are carefully made by both the health care provider and the patient as they achieve recommended target level glucose and A1C.

You are doing well, stay motivated focused and active and stay involved. Take a look at some of the diabetic forums on this website for support and success stories to inspire you. Healthy regards for continued success.
