Dear kam- This is a great question and useful to many who visit dLife .com. One of the best and most efficient ways to improve insulin resistance is with exercise. Sustained elevated heart rate for a period of 30 minutes per day has a direct effect on making the body more receptive to the insulin carrying capabilities of glucose. In turn the glucose is delivered into the cell and the amount of circulating glucose is reduced.

The medication group TZD also has a direct effect on insulin resistance. All diabetes have insulin resistance and this is why physical activity is such an important part of of the Self Care Behaviors for the best self management.

Enjoy starting to find new ways to get moving and staying active and continuing to self manage your diabetes to the very best. To your healthy and active lifestyle.
