Hello melsua
With your history of thyroid problems and polycystic ovary syndrome, you should be seeing your primary care provider and your gynocologist at least every 6 months. They should be ordering blood tests to see if there is any changes in any of your hormone levels. If you start having symptoms of increased thirst, frequent urination or feel anything has changed with your health, see your doctor right away. I do not think you must take fingersticks but if it would make you feel more in control knowing what your glucose levels are, they are easily purchased on-line. Sometimes companies will give them to people for free but remember, they supplies will have a price.
