Hello Duckhunter847
Everyone's glucose levels goes up after eating a meal. It is expected for the glucose level to go up to around 150-180mg/dl about 1 1/2 to 2 hours after your meal. If is is consistantly going up to 200-250mg/dl 2 hours after the meal, you may need a change in your medication. When was the last time you had a blood test for HgA1c? That test shows an average of your glucose levels and looks back over three months. It gives the doctor a very good idea of how well your glucose levels are being managed. Why don't you try taking a few more pre dinner and post dinner fingersticks, then see your doctor to discuss the results.
